Coach Derick Gonzales played his high school basketball at St.Patrick’s Regional Secondary in Vancouver, BC. Throughout his journey, he was a key player of the team that received multiple tournament All-Star & MVP recognitions, including 2 Lower Mainland All-Star awards, a spot in the BCHSBBA Provincial All-Star Game, and was a member of the Top Flight Vancouver team that traveled to the Philippines to play in the National Finals (NBTC).

Derick’s high energy and passion for the game have made him an extremely active member in his community as a youth basketball coach/trainer. Within the past 10 years, Derick has been coaching for the DHDL, Squad, and St.Patrick’s Elementary and Secondary; achieving multiple top-tier tournament championships and allowing players to develop on and off the court.

Recently, Coach Derick led the St. Patrick’s Grade 8 Boys team to a Provincial Title (First ever in program history)!

What Derick aims to achieve as a coach is to instill the core values of perseverance and discipline in the athletes he comes across, using basketball as a tool to guide them to success, on and off the court.

Coach Tino graduated from Gladstone Secondary School. For his post-secondary career, he first played at Columbia Bible College, before transferring to Concordia University in Edmonton, playing a key role on the team, while also achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

Coach Arnel Santiago Jr is a graduate from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary, where he was a member of the 2014 AAAA Provincial championship team. After his high school career, he went on to play at Jose Rizal University in the Philippines.

His brief stint there allowed him to learn more about how a college basketball system is run and what players need to be working on to succeed at the next level.

Arnel has experience coaching players ages 6 to 21 years old in a variety of environments. From high school varsity teams to club basketball and private training sessions.

Coach Arnel recently led the Grade 8 Boys team at St. Patrick’s to a Provincial Title!

Arnel’s dedication, energy and creativity to the game has allowed players to have fun playing while empowering them to seek more from themselves on and off the court.

Coach Angelo Santiago graduated from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary. Throughout his high school career, he has amassed numerous all star and MVP awards.

His biggest achievement was being recognized as a TOP 20 Player in British Columbia for the class of 2018.

He is recently finished playing post-secondary basketball at St.Mary’s University in Calgary, Alberta.
